This week has been good action for Redfish, Seatrout, Snook Snapper, some Pompano, & plenty of Big Jack Crevelles. Fishing Seawalls Docks, & mangrove shorelines continues to be most successful thus far this month. Fishing open waters you can catch ladyfish, Sea Trout, Snapper, JAcks, Bluefish, Pompano, Sheepshead, Catfish, & more. Fishing mullet dead or alive is a great bait during Oct. & Nov. for big redfish Snook & more. Fishing shrimp on the bottom will yield Snapper, pompano, Tripletail, Flounder, & Sheepshead.
Fishing has picked up this week. A minor cold front has pushed down to our region, bringing lots of hungry predators. Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Pompano, Snapper, Kingfish, Whiting, & Croaker are roaming the ocean side beaches in search of their next meal. This makes for excellent nearshore fishing this week. Fishing a mile or so offshore on local reefs & wrecks we can catch plenty of Snapper, Grouper, Grunts, Bluerunners, Sharks, & more. Cut Bait and jigs are most productive as of lately.
Trolling this week has been excellent. Lots of Mahi-Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish, Bonita, & Tripletail. Trolling Ballyhoo behind the boat at a slow speed has been our best bite this week. 5-7 baits are deployed 50-100 feet behind the boat close to the surface. explosive strikes are yielding fish to 60 lbs when doing this type of fishing. When the trolling is slow we will often bottom fish for larger snapper grouper cobia sharks and sea bass. Bottom fishing & trolling for mahi & sailfish tends to be better during winter months.
