    Inshore-

Fishing inshore has been great so far this December. Lots of Sea Trout, SNook, Snapper, Sheepshead, & redfish are being caught daily. Pompano are cruising sandy & grassy flats from 2-6′ of water patrolling for shrimp crabs and sand fleas. Seatrout are being caught on medium depth grass flats in about 3-5′ of water near our saint lucie power plant. Redfish are also being caught in the same general are when anchoring and fishing closer to the bottom. Doa & berkley gulp products are key to success for Trout & reds. Snook fishing with finger mullet has been most productive during the daylight hrs. Night time switch to heavy lures & go deep for the larger Snook. Sheepshead, Snapper, Flounder, Tripletail, Black Drum, & Pompano are being caught around deeper structure using Shrimp and crabs near the bottom. Inshore fishing remains strong & will get better as more fronts move through our area.

    Nearshore-

Nearshore is always productive during the month of december. Nearshore fishing for Spanish mackerel is top notch in December just outside our St. Lucie inlet. Snapper fishing also tends to heat up here in Stuart, FL in the winter months. Cobia can also be caught nearshore when mackerel fishing. Sheepshead fishing is also very productive when bottom fishing nearshore & theses sheepshead tend to be much larger than most caught inland in our inland rivers. Mackerel fishing is a personal favorite of mine during the month of December for the simple fact that the shear numbers and aggressiveness of these fish is adrenaline pumping!

    Offshore-

Fishing offshore is always good during the month of December. Many mahis are caught daily and lots of sailfish are migrating through coastal waters. lately 120-200′ depths have been most productive when trolling for offshore species. This makes for great days of action packed trolling! Also one can expect Bigger than average Blackfin Tuna, Bonita, Cobia, Kingfish, & Wahoo. Fishing live baits on kites & or drifting is also very very productive way to target large pelagics too! Fishing onboard the Mayhem is always a blast when fishing offshore thanks to full walk around capability. This 37′ full walkaround is custom designed to fish for pelagic species year round in any conditions.
