Inshore fishing has really picked up this week. Clients are averaging 10-20 big Jack Crevelles a trip. Also we are averaging 7-10 Snook a trip with many being keeper sized and over! Spotted Seatrout action is still steady to the north about 5 miles from the boat ramp. Reds are sparadic but we are getting a few every other trip. Caught some Grouper in the river today as well, a pleasent suprise and a great battle for clients. Live bait is key during these spring months. Fly fishing can be very productive too, but on average expect 1-6 fish per trip.
Action has been steady for Snapper, Cobia, Sharks, Kingfish, Permit, Big Jack Crevelles, lesser Amberjacks, and a few Grouper. Shallow reefs are holding a lot of good fish right now. Today we caught a handul of Kingfish and even a stray MAhi-Mahi in 30′ a great bycatch for Dan on the Mayhem today.
Action has been slow this week. Few Mahis are being caught. a stray Sailfish now an again. Current is moving fast so bottom fishing hasnt been your best option over the past few days. Blackfin Tuna are starting to show up good 10 miles out trolling small feathers. Mahi should start migrating through in the comming weeks so get ready for Mahi madness on the Mayhem!
