Snook fishing has been a little slow this week. full moon has the fish in a slightly lethargic state. we are averaging 5-10 fish a trip. Also catching nice Seatrout, Redfish, Flounder, Jack Crevelles, Snapper, & catfish. Also a few groupers in the river are being taken as well. Fishing should really pick up next week on the new moon phases. Optimal tides will make for a steady Snook bite.
Nearshore fishing has been ok. Some Permit are being caught every other trip. Snook are being caught along the beaches along with Big Jack Crevelles, Ladyfish, Bluefish, Kingfish, & an occasional Cobia. Some snapper to the south are being taken on shallow reefs on the right tides. Expect the permit fishing to heat up in the next week or so, I personally cant wait for the big bruiser Jack Crevelles & Larger Permit to show up!
Mahi madness is just around the corner, expext a good mahi run in the following weeks fish will average 15-40 lbs. MAy is prime time to target mahi with great success. Sailfish are being caught almost every trip when trolling. Lots of bigger Kingfish are starting to show up as well. Shark fishing has been really good this week. Lots of big Bullsharks are ready and willing to eat if your willing to battle these beasts. These fish are 9-13 ft on average. Goliath groupers are all over the reefs this week too. Hold on to that rod because they will rip the rod & you out of the boat if you are not careful, haha!
