Inshore–
Fishing this week has been excellent for pompano. Customers are catching their daily bag limit in about 10-20 mins. On the right tide. Fishing T & A wacky jigs has been the ticket to success. Drifting the flats will get the desired bites. Anchoring up and fishing with fish bites or sandfleas on pompano rigs will also work very well. Snook fishing has been decent when fishing live bait around structure. 40 lb fluorocarbon leaders with 2/0- 6/0 determined by the size baits you’ll be using when fishing. Mixed in are plenty of jack crevelles & bluefish.
Offshore–
Fishing offshore this week has been excellent for mahi & sailfish, trolling in depths of 90-160′. Few larger blackfin tuna are in these depths locally this week as well. Bottom fishing has been good for lane snapper, mutton, mangrove, vermillion, & cobia. Plenty of kingfish and barracudas are around, throwing out a wire leader rig with a live bait on the surface will add action on the boat.
