Inshore-
Fishing this week has been excellent for snook! Live baitfish such as mullet, mojarra, mud minnows will work well around structure while free lining these live baits for steady action.  Shrimp fishing on the bottom will be productive for sheepshead, snapper, snook, redfish, & black drum this week. Soon we can expect pompano to show up, so be sure to have some goofy jigs tied up & ready to cast. Be prepared just in-case of the event of skipping pompano on the flats while running around the river.

Offshore–
Fishing offshore has been excellent when you can make it out. November can be a hard month to break the inlet. But if you can make it out, expect good catches such as mahi, blackfin tuna, sailfish, kingfish, & snapper. Trolling in 50-100’ is not uncommon this time of year for great mahi action. Trolling dead ballyhoo & squid chain teasers is an easy way to target these pelagics with great success. Bottom fishing on the 6 & 8 mile reef has been pretty good for mutton snapper & lane snapper as of lately. Expect a few Cobia in the mix as well. Egg sinkers with swivels and very long leaders up to 40’ with 6/0 circle hooks and whole sardines will produce good snapper and Cobia bites on the bottom.

Tight lines,
Capt. Jonathan
